You can choose from a variety of studs, Gold and Silver plated or Titanium.
What are the differences in the studs?
Gold Studs - 24 carat gold plated and Nickel compliant.
Silver Studs - Highly polished white stainless steel and Nickel compliant.
Titanium - Slightly darker silver colour and Nickel free.
The visual difference is purely the look, some people prefer a gold look, others prefer a silver look.
Nickel Compliant - there may be a tiny amount of nickel in metal plated components, but not enough to cause problems for the wearer.
Nickel Free - Because some people have allergic reactions to nickel, nickel-free is a description of gold and silver that is alloyed without nickel.
Allergies - What studs should I choose?
If you already know you have a nickel allergy or sensitivity, then only select titanium studs which are nickel free.
If you are getting your ears pierced for the first time and don't know if you have any allergies then the choice of stud is usually based on what you prefer the look of.
It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish the difference between an allergic reaction to earrings and the expected reaction after the initial piercing.
Minor pain/redness will most likely occur immediately - this is normal and should settle within 48 hours provided proper after care is strictly followed.
Should excessive redness, irritability, itching, soreness, weeping, bleeding etc occur then this may indicate that you are having an allergic reaction to the studs you have choosen. In some cases it can also indicate that infection is present, however this is more common when the aftercare has not be adhered to. In this situation it is recommended that you consult with your doctor (do not remove studs until you have received medical advice)
Age Restrictions
There are none. You will however always be asked to sign a registration form and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a consenting parent or guardian
Prices
The prices of the studs are noted underneath the pictures of the earrings which I currently have available.
The price is inclusive of the piercing, your chosen studs and a bottle of aftercare solution.
