The nail enhancements (tips) are applied to your own natural nails. The enhancements provide instant length to your nails and are blended in such a way that you don't realise that they are not your own nails!
The liquid & powder is applied over the nail and extension tip. The ultimate long-term goal with enhancements is for the client to end up growing out and wearing her own long, strong, beautiful, healthy nails.
The nails can be shaped any way you like and can be any length you like. I would recommend if your nails are naturally short you begin with shorter enhancements to allow you to become accustomed to them over a period of time, one of the main reasons for enhancements breaking can be due to excessive length. Liquid & powder can also be used for natural nail overlays to strengthen your own nails.
Maintenance After 2/3 weeks depending on how quickly your natural nails grow you will require a rebalance as your natural nails will have grown as normal moving the nail enhancements with them. Rebalancing is absolutely neccessary as this is the process that keeps your nail enhancements in great condition all of the time. Having a rebalance returns your enhancements to their orignal length, strength and beauty.
One thing I always make a potential new client aware of (especially if you have not had nail enhanements before) is that the enhancements do require upkeep, therefore if you are looking to have this done as one off (treat yourself) then the cost involved will be minimal, if however you wish to continue with regular maintenance (rebalance) and replacement of full sets then please take onboard the long term cost involved.
Please remember that nail enhancements are not indestructible and can be broken if knocked, bumped etc, this will ultimately lead to a decision you will have to make as to whether you are prepared to pay for replacement nails or in some cases a full new set.
After Care If you have invested in nail enhanements you should treat your new nails with the same care that you would your natural nails. It is often thought that nail enhancements ruin and damage your natural nail. Your natural nail is made up of many layers, the product is applied to these layers and it stands to reason that if you try to pick, bite and prise the product off that you most definately will do damage. (NEVER, EVER DO THIS). If you want them removed then ask your nail technician to remove them properly - there usually is a charge for this. I always recommend that Solar Oil is applied at least twice daily, this helps to keep the nail enhancements tough and flexible and with repeated use drives the oil deeper into the natural nail.
Removal Liquid & Powder requires to be soaked off and a conditioning Solar Oil buffed into the natural nail if no further sets required.
